Advancing Cybersecurity Research

The Center for Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity Studies brings together research, hands-on experience, and industry partnerships to prepare students for today’s rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape.

The Honors experience has aided my academic pursuits through exclusive Honors classes that are offered on campus. I’ve found these classes to be more impactful than the average course.

I've always enjoyed learning about chemistry, but my favorite part of all my chemistry classes in high school were the labs. It made sense for me to pursue biochemistry specifically, because I have an interest in not only chemistry but its role in biological processes. Since taking a plethora of chemistry classes in college, as well as conducting research with a biochemistry professor on campus, I’ve figured out my professional aspirations are to be in a lab conducting research.

I knew I wanted to study something related to science. I was always drawn to that subject throughout middle and high school. I also liked the problem-solving and mathematical aspect of chemistry, as well as the idea it really does explain how life works at the atomic and molecular level.

I can’t say enough good things about our math department. The classes are rigorous and have taught me all of the math-based skills I need to succeed. I’m very happy I’m a pure math and stats major (rather than) someplace else where I could be an actuarial science major.

Starting from no knowledge of digital forensics, this program has made me gown immensely in this field in four short years. This program is designed exceptionally well in getting you on your feet and starting from the basics of computers and forensics.
